Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910)
Personal Transformation
Listen to a story from the great land of India, one of the most ancient civilizations in the world. Ashoka, was an emperor in India during the 3rd century BCE. He had been renowned as a fierce warrior and strategist—in short, not a guy to mess with lightly. Then something happened. He conquered a neighboring empire, and was so appalled by the bloodshed that he inflicted on the locals that he became a Buddhist and an advocate of peace between all religions and peoples. His rulings were written on stones across his great empire, and two of his symbols, the lion and the spoked wheel, are national symbols of India to this day. If a man can go from ruthless conqueror to peaceful statesman, then the possibilities for personal change are truly great.
Think about yourself. How could you change for the better? It might start with a modest vow to be kinder and more sensitive to others. Not to mention the many things that we could all do to improve our skill sets. Part of that may well include the two key aspects of dating: treating others with respect, and learning how to present yourself effectively so as to attract the right partner—not just for anyone, but for you. The first part starts by reading our code of ethics and living by it—remember that the others in the Pretty.Pick heart are people like you, looking for someone special. So, they deserve the same respect that you expect from them. That’s clear. The second part requires a bit of work. Tip for the day—be honest about who you are and what you are looking for. Even if you succeed in presenting yourself as another at first, you will always be found out. And it may surprise some to know that they are lovable—just as they are. PrettyPick will prove it. |
